Apple is seemingly planning to support the next-generation Wi-Fi 802.11ay spec on its iPhone 12 lineup later this year. This standard is still in draft stages and it is expected to exist finalized by the end of this year.
The highlight of Wi-Fi ay is that it uses the 60GHz spectrum to offer extremely loftier bandwidth which makes it platonic for use in device-to-device transfer. Apple will employ this new Wi-Fi standard to improve the transfer speed between its devices. This could come in handy while transferring large video files between iPhones over AirDrop or between an iPhone and a Mac as the college bandwidth will allow the transfer process to be over within a few seconds.
So far, we have not seen any other device launch in the market which supports the new Wi-Fi ay standard.
The study from Macotakarabesides claims that while Apple will be using OLED displays on the iPhone 12 lineup this year, the company might as well be working on an iPhone with an LCD display. All rumors so far indicate to Apple switching entirely to OLED displays with its 2022 iPhone lineup so this report contradicts them. Withal,Macotakara has a pretty reliable track record when it comes to Apple leaks so the company could be working on something.
Lastly, the report claims that Apple's ultra-wideband AirTags could charge wirelessly and that they will go on auction in fall this yr. If Apple ends up including contrary wireless charging on the iPhone 12 serial, it would allow 1 to charge the AirTags wirelessly right from their iPhone.
The AirTags has leaked quite a chip since last year but Apple is yet to officially announce them.
